Narrow-gauge Railway in Osoblaha
Třemešná - Osoblaha
This unique narrow-gauge railway is located north of Krnov and belongs to the most important technical monuments in microregion Krnovsko, connecting Třemešná ve Slezsku with Osoblaha.
It was built with track width of just 760 mm because of money saving reasons. The building-up began in spring 1998 and on 14th of December 1898 the first regular train ran on the track. In the post-war time was the operation stopped because of its demage and it was put back into use very slowly. Nowadays there go daily several regular passenger trains. In summer you can enjoy ride by a steam train called Resita. Resita was made in Rumania and imported at the end of 2003. Thereafter it was reconstructed in very complicated way and in April 2005 presented to public.
It goes under 4 bridges and winds around 102 bows. From this number 24 are of smaller radius than 100 meters. The smallest radius of the bow takes 75 meter.
The tourist souvenir labels No. 817 are available at the railway station in Třemešná ve Slezsku or in the information centre in Bohušov.
